M&A in Southeast Asia - 2025 Q2

Q2 has been a bumper quarter for M&A in the region, with nine new deals announced in Southeast Asia. Six were in Indonesia, two in Malaysia, and one in Thailand. A transaction value was only announced for two of these deals, with the value of those two transactions being US $457.5 million.

The running deal count for 2025 is 12 deals with a total deal value of US $581.5 million. By comparison, by Q2 of 2024 we had seen 6 transactions and a total deal value of US $1,867 million, with the TotalEnergies acquisition of both OMV's and Sapura Energy's shares of SapuraOMV dominating.
