On 17 September, Indonesia launched its second oil and gas licensing round of 2026, offering eight working areas covering a combined area of approximately 63,835 km².

Seven of the eight blocks: Jago, Mahesa, Rafflesia, Belibis, Talu, Manta and Palu, are being offered through the direct-offer mechanism. Leti Selatan is the only regular tender.

The launch came alongside the announcement of six winners from the first 2026 licensing round, which we looked at separately.
