Australia M&A – INPEX to acquire PetroChina’s 10.67% interest in Browse

On Friday (15th May), INPEX announced that it had entered into a sale and purchase agreement with PetroChina to acquire the latter’s entire 10.67% participating interest in the Browse joint venture, offshore Western Australia. The transaction includes interests in the Browse titles covering the Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa gas fields.

The deal remains subject to a number of approvals, including regulatory approvals and approval from the existing Browse joint venture participants. No transaction value was disclosed.
