Malaysia DRO award – Harvester Energy awarded the Estuary Cluster

On 10 September 2026, PETRONAS announced that, through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), it had awarded the Estuary Cluster Small Field Asset PSC to Harvester Energy (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Australia-based Harvester Energy Pty Ltd.

The cluster contains three undeveloped oil discoveries: Lerek, Korbu and Diwangsa. Harvester has already published some details of its proposed development, with the initial focus on Lerek and a target of first oil in 2028/29.

In this article, I look at the fields, the previous development attempt and whether Harvester’s Pivotree technology could provide a different route to commercialising the cluster.
