Thailand's long-running 25th Petroleum Bidding Round is finally moving towards completion, with the Cabinet approving the award of three onshore exploration blocks on 15 September 2026.

PTTEP International has been selected for Blocks L1/66 and L3/66, while Pan Orient Energy (Siam) and CanAsia Energy have been selected for Block L8/66. Block L6/66, the only other block to receive applications, is still going through the Cabinet approval process.

The concessions have not yet been signed. PTTEP subsequently confirmed that it will hold 100% interests in L1/66 and L3/66 and that concession agreements will be signed later. CanAsia, meanwhile, confirmed that its proposed interest in L8/66 is 30%, with Pan Orient Energy (Siam) holding 70% and operatorship, although as of 16 September CanAsia said the consortium had not yet received formal notification of the award.
